At St. Austin Catholic School, we believe that every child CAN learn in his or her own unique way. With different learning styles comes a need for differentiated instruction and support. Through our academic support programs, we offer individualized instruction to students with identified diverse learning needs.
We have a team of dedicated educators whose ultimate goal is to provide support for each student to embrace their abilities and acquire an individualized method of learning to maximize strengths and achieve success within the classroom. As a school rooted in the Catholic faith, we are committed to providing an educational environment that is safe, inclusive, and strives to meet the needs of all learners.
Eligibility for classroom and testing accommodations is based on approved psychoeducational evaluations documenting a student’s learning differences. Once evaluation documentation is received the Student Support Specialist will review and approve of the evaluations. An accommodations meeting may then be set up to discuss recommended classroom and testing accommodations. Once finalized, accommodation forms are given to all teachers on a student’s team. A list of recommended assessors is available if needed.
