2015-2016 is the inaugural year of our Pre-K 3 classroom. We are excited to add a new learning experience to our community and look forward to making it a long-lasting, enriching program for our young learners! The curriculum for the class is called the InvestiGator Club:
The InvestiGator Club is a culturally rich, fully integrated preschool curriculum that focuses on ten critical domains of learning, including literacy, math, science, social studies, oral language, and creative arts. Children are taught basic readiness skills, such as the alphabet, numbers, shapes, and colors, and they are also encouraged to experiment, build structures, appreciate fine art, sing, dance, and engage in dramatic play. The preschool program uses engaging stories, charming characters, and children's own curiosity to motivate them to think, solve problems, communicate, and investigate their world. The curriculum focuses on social and emotional needs as well as physical abilities for young children. Great care is taken to ensure that adaptations and suggestions are offered to accommodate a multitude of special needs. The teaching approach emphasizes interactive learning and invites the entire family to get involved.
Ms. Maggie Sather
I am originally from Milwaukee, WI and from a large Irish Catholic family of seven children. And yes I am a huge Packer fan, sorry to all those Cowboy fans! I attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a bachelors of Science in Special Education. I started out my career working as a Cross Categorical Special Education teacher at public schools in Madison, WI working with children and adults of all ages and learning types. When I first moved to Austin, I continued in the field of ABA therapy working at a camp with children with Autism. I learned a lot from those experiences. I feel very blessed to now be working at a Catholic school and able to educate a child as a whole: academically, socially, morally, and spiritually. Pre K 3 will be the first school experience for most of the children and I am very excited to be a part of this important time of their and your lives!
Ms. Samantha Rogers
I am the Pre-K 3 aid and I was born and raised in Austin, Texas. I love to travel, knit, and create handmade crafts with all different kinds of materials.
I hold a BA in Art History from Texas State University. I am a St. Austin school alumni and I love working with children. I am also the Eagle’s Nest After-School Care Coordinator and am excited to begin this program with Ms. Sather and learn a bunch alongside the kids!
