Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM)
EIM training is a program the Austin Diocese requires for all those who work in ministry with minors and vulnerable adults, whether in paid or volunteer positions. EIM is required of any ministry that has possible contact with children and vulnerable adults, including volunteering for religious education, ushers, Catholic schools, parish organizations that may serve youth (Ladies/Men’s Clubs, Knights of Columbus, etc.), Society of St Vincent de Paul, parish/school sponsored Scout groups, liturgical ministries (Hospitality, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Lectors, etc). All adult volunteers must complete the EIM workshop every three years.
If you plan to volunteer for the parish in any of these capacities, you must take EIM training to participate. All parishioners are invited to take advantage of this educational opportunity regardless of your ministry. If you are not sure of your most recent workshop attendance date, please e-mail your name and contact information to our Ethics & Integrity in Ministry Coordinator, Jennifer Anderson, at janderson@staustin.org.
The Ethics & Integrity Workshop teaches the Catholic understanding that each individual must be respected and honored. The full schedule of upcoming workshops is available via the diocese Ethics & Integrity in Ministry web page, linked at right. Please register for workshops ahead of time by calling the phone number listed for the venue so that enough materials will be available. You may attend any workshop in the Diocese.
