It's Been a Successful Week!
What a week it has been! 4th grade is off to a racing start here on the 2nd floor!
A few things to keep in mind:
- NO SCHOOL ON MONDAY!! HAPPY LABOR DAY!
-PE is on Tuesday/Thursday, but your child will not be dressing out this year!
-The tab "Safety Patrol 2010-2011" has more information.
-Dr. John Hoffman will be offering Altar Server Training for our students on Monday, September 13, New Altar Servers Training and Formation Session for St. Austin Catholic School Students, 1pm – 3 pm in the church- parents MUST attend and ne EIM certified.

A PEEK AT THE WEEK:
Social Studies:
This week we will learn about Texas’ natural resources. We will chat about renewable and non-renewable resources and will do a mini-project book on both! We will also keep up-to-date with current events by reading Scholastic News.
Science:
We continue our discussion of plate tectonics and how they affect the earth. We will focus on earthquakes and volcanoes. Thank you to all parents who provided us with learning materials!!!!
Math:
This week is full of learning! Here’s how the week will look- We begin with an Investigation about number lines, and continue with word problems! Be looking for homework this week!!
Religion:
We begin discussion of Creation and St. Teresa of Avila. We will continue our 4 values of St. Austin as well: Respect, Integrity, Dignity, Community
Language Arts:
Grammar- We will work on subjects and predicates this week
Reading- We will read Grandfather’s Journey ~ historical fiction. We will also continue to read for our genre project! (please see tab for more details)
