2018 - 2019 Annual Fund 101: For the Sake of a single child...
St. Austin Catholic School has always relied on the generosity of parents, alumni, parishioners and others. Tuition and fees cover about 70% of the school operating budget. It is the school’s financial policy to operate under a balanced budget while keeping tuition affordable each year. To achieve this, it is necessary for the School to raise the budget shortfall with various fundraising opportunities.
This year St. Austin Catholic School celebrates the launch of it's fourth Annual Giving Campaign: Annual Fund 101. The theme comes from the School’s 100 year mission of educating students to be Christ-centered, academically strong, moral community leaders. True to our School's mission and the School motto: non scholae, sed vitae, not for school, but for life the theme refers to the variety of ways the Fund supports the school including:
connecting the Dominican and Paulist missions and histories;
encouraging students, alums, parents and parishioners to be involved in both academic and extracurricular activities;
providing funds that supplement tuition and help to finance the cost of a SACS education for every student;
ensuring St. Austin Catholic School continues to offer the next generation of students a quality faith-based education.
The most efficient way for supporters to make a gift to the School is through the Annual Fund. Because there is no fundraising cost for this effort, 100% of each contribution is used for school needs. All school families, friends and alums, staff and St. Austin Catholic Parishioners are asked to participate in the Annual Fund to the fullest extent they are financially able. 2018-2019 Annual Giving officially started on July 1, the start of the new fiscal year. Thank you to those of you who have already participated. Your gifts directly impact the lives of each student, (all 215 of them!). Annual Giving provides unrestricted dollars that support the School’s operating budget, including:
- Professional growth and development
- Classroom Enrichment services
- Enhancements to the educational and co-curricular programs
- Classroom material
- Financial aid for deserving students
Given St. Austin Catholic School’s commitment to academic excellence and financial responsibility it is important that the School implement an Annual Fund to complement fundraising events such as City Lights and Grand Tour. Implementing an Annual Fund will ensure a culture of giving at St. Austin and offer a revenue stream which will allow the school to implement new initiatives and upgrades.
Participation by 100% of school families is critical for the School as we approach outside supporters and foundations for grant opportunities. When approaching potential external supporters for school funding it is imperative to demonstrate strong internal support for the School through the Annual Fund. Foundations often consider the participation rate of donors as they determine the level at which they will support our School. Gifts of any amount are greatly appreciated and aid in our goal of 100% participation.
The following giving societies have been established to recognize and honor the many donors who support St. Austin Catholic School at these leadership levels:

Charter Circle $10,000 – $19,999
Patrons Circle $5,000 – $9,999
Founders Circle $1,917 – $4,999
Fellows $500 – $1,916

Celebrate the heritage of St. Austin Catholic School and ensure it's future for many more generations of students. Not only is your gift tax-deductible to the full extent of the law, but also every dollar and donor is vital and deeply appreciated.
All contributors to The Centennial Annual Fund will be invited to an All-Donors Celebration Breakfast on the blacktop to be planned for May 2019
Contributors who give $1, 917 or more to the Annual Fund will be invited to The 1917 Society Cheese and Wine Reception.
All donors to Annual Giving will be listed in our Annual Report, unless they wish to remain anonymous.
